Original Story in planning: Le Charm de la Vampire

Working title.  You may have noticed that I changed the title of the blog.  The reason for that is simple.  I’ve finished drafting the first chapter of my science fiction story and am now planning the first book of my vampire series.  I was debating where to start it.  Either the beginning, ie the origin of vampires, or the start of the current generation, basically set in modern day, 21st century.  The origin was basically going to be a biblical fanfic of sorts.  The Cain and Abel story, with some significant changes.  The main problem about using bible references though, other than pissing off all the religious nuts out there, is having to actually familiarize oneself with said bible.  Now, I tried reading the bible once or twice.  I couldn’t do it.  It’s too hard.  I need something with a narative.  The bible, on the other hand, reads more like “he did this and he said this and he did this and he did this,” ect.  Maybe something was lost when they translated it into english.  I honestly don’t see how people can dedicate their lives to studying it.

Anyway, I’m beginning the series with the current generation.  I’ll go back and tell the back stories later on.  I spent the weekend planning out the characters.  I was listening to early Cradle of Filth while I done so.  Now, I have the main cast in mind, and a few plotlines, but I also can’t get Funeral in Carpathia out of my head, hence the quote in the site’s header.

Unfortunately, this is probably going to be the most twilight of all the books in the series.  Right now, I have a setting and characters, but no real plot.  No antagonist, no conflict, no story.  None of the characters have names.  Well, only one, and that’s only because she was set to appear in a future story that I had partially planned out.

Anyway, that’s enough for now.  I’ll give more details of the plot and characters in a future post.
